The Asthma Section of the Respiratory Association of Serbia is dedicated to improving understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of this chronic respiratory disease. The section's goal is to raise awareness about the importance of asthma, enhance available therapies, and improve medical practices to ensure better protection and quality of life for those affected. Estimates indicate that between 150,000 and 250,000 people in Serbia suffer from asthma, with approximately 7,000 having severe asthma. These data highlight that asthma is a significant public health issue that remains insufficiently recognized both within the professional community and the general public. Section members work on exchanging clinical experiences, researching new therapeutic approaches, and developing treatment strategies with the aim of contributing to the overall improvement in the quality of life of all patients.
